Scrapbooking Theme Books with a Neat Vellum Paper Tip
Scrapbooking theme books make great presents and are easy to put together. My friend, Celine, put this whole theme book together in just a matter of hours! Her daughter has a kitten that she adores. First Celine got together all the pictures of the kitten that she could find. Next, she sorted the pictures in a way that told a story and followed all of the cat's adventures. Celine then used vellum paper in her printer and text templates from the internet to make the cat’s funny sayings for each page. I didn't think cats could talk!!!! How wonderful and Funny!!
Finally, Celine decided on a common color scheme for the album and used these same colors on every page. Using scrapbook page templates to arrange the pictures, she pasted together the background. The she worked in a few mats to the pictures, added the neat little text boxes and a few key embellishments and it was done! The book was done. Her daughter loved the album so much that Celine's next project is an album for her daughter's new puppy!!! Celine has already gone out shopping to find embellishments that will make this dog album a favorite keepsake.
Some things to remember for theme books:
1) Always sort through the pictures first and put them in chronological order.
2) Use a common color theme throughout the album to create continuity.
3) Keeping the pages simple and adding embellishments and journaling always adds more interest.
4) Be sure to try and add humour to your pages.
5) Add dates and facts (who, what, where, when) so that the album has historical features.
Enjoy yourself! Don't get stuck thinking you have to so something but be creative, do what you think is neat and fun.
Theme books are great scrapbooking ideas because they can be started and finished all in one weekend or they can be labeled and added to over time as new pictures are taken. The best thing about theme books is that once you have a theme in mind, you’ll find all kinds of embellishments at home or at the stores that will accent your scrapbook perfectly!
