1. Check out your local scrapbooking store to see what activities they are offering. Most local store will have special sales, but many will offer crop time, workshops and classes especially for National Scrapbooking Day.
2. Learn a new scrapbooking technique. You can do this all on your own. Pick up a scrapbook magazine and try a new skill. It can be something simple or complex. Now make a page layout using that technique.

6. Shop for new supplies online. Online scrapbooking stores usually have great National Scrapbooking Day sales that often run the whole weekend. You’ll find some of the best deals on Saturday, but many will run the sales through the whole weekend. Check your favorite online stores first, because some run the best savings during early bird hours or night owl specials. Be sure you know what time zone they are in so you don’t miss out.
7. Show a friend how to scrapbook. Do you have a friend who has always wanted to learn how to make an album? This holiday is a terrific time to demonstrate how. Bring her to your local store for a special event or invite her to your home to scrapbook.

You and other scrapbookers make page layouts at the same time and chat online with each other. Many crops will have challenges to see who gets the most pages done. Some will have competitions or contests, and others might have a photo gallery where you can upload your page layouts.
9. Take some photos. If going to a scrapbook event isn’t possible, consider taking some pictures of your loved ones. Upload them to an online digital printing service and begin to plan your next scrapbook project.
10. Organize your scrapbooking space. You just might find some supplies you forgot all about. Some organization now will help you get more layouts done next time you want to scrapbook.
11. Go on a scrapbooking retreat or plan to attend a scrapbooking convention. Check your area for expos and scrapbooking events. Consider scheduling a getaway with your girlfriends for this special weekend.
12. Read “A Page Out of Life” by Kathleen Reid. This book is about women who are very different, but who all attend the same local scrapbook club. While they share their love of scrapbooking, they uncover secrets hidden in their photos. National Scrapbooking Day is a perfect time to read this book.
